The SSC GD result 2026 is out. The Staff Selection Commission declared the Constable (GD) CBT result on 12 October 2026, and 1,97,408 candidates have been shortlisted for the physical test (PET/PST).

A total of 21,56,776 people sat the exam between 27 April and 30 May 2026. So roughly 1 in 11 made it to the next round. If your roll number is in List-I or List-II, start running practice this week. The physical test is where many people drop out.

How to check the SSC GD result 2026 (merit list PDF)

SSC doesn’t give a roll-number search box for this result. It puts out PDF lists, and you look for your roll number in them.

  1. Open ssc.gov.in and tap Results.
  2. Pick Constable (GD) and the 2026 result dated 12 October.
  3. Download the list for you:
    • List-I: female candidates shortlisted for PET/PST
    • List-II: male candidates shortlisted for PET/PST (other than SSF)
    • List-III: withheld results (60 candidates)
    • List-IV: debarred candidates (88)
  4. The lists are in roll number order. Use Ctrl+F on a computer, or the search option in your phone’s PDF reader, and type your full roll number.
  5. Also download the result write-up (the notice). It has the cut-off for your state, category and area.

The male list is very large, more than 3,600 pages, so download it on Wi-Fi if you can.

SSC hasn’t put up individual marks yet. The notice says the final answer key, response sheets and marks of qualified and non-qualified candidates will come “in due course”, through your login on ssc.gov.in.

SSC GD cut-off 2026: state-wise for men

Cut-offs are out of 160. They are normalised scores, with NCC bonus marks added. The tables below are for the General area (G) only, from Annexure-II of SSC’s notice. Border area (B) and Naxal/militancy area (N) have their own cut-offs, usually lower. Check the PDF if you applied from such a district.

State UR OBC EWS SC ST
Andhra Pradesh 90.77 93.80 71.77 75.25 78.41
Telangana 79.51 80.50 58.29 70.37 95.49
Uttar Pradesh 126.14 126.13 124.67 120.62 117.17
Bihar 120.61 120.44 118.02 104.60 116.58
Rajasthan 126.84 127.55 120.82 118.36 119.94
Madhya Pradesh 120.99 125.68 116.34 115.42 101.04
Haryana 122.17 121.95 121.46 116.74 –
Maharashtra 99.40 99.52 94.57 96.54 90.43
Karnataka 82.79 81.21 77.13 77.26 87.24
Tamil Nadu 72.05 76.84 40.00* 67.64 68.96
Kerala 65.04 66.69 40.00* 53.93 55.74
West Bengal 94.20 91.07 71.70 84.14 92.17
Odisha 95.02 98.51 78.39 78.60 77.01

*40.00 is the minimum qualifying mark for EWS. It shows up when there weren’t enough EWS candidates to fill the posts, so everyone who crossed the minimum was shortlisted.

The gap between states is huge. A UR candidate from Kerala needed about 65, while one from Rajasthan needed almost 127. That’s because vacancies are given state-wise, and competition in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Haryana is far higher.

SSF (All-India, men only): UR 146.17817, OBC 145.55766, EWS 144.20658, SC 140.95414, ST 135.03155, ESM 100.52099. Only 375 men were shortlisted for SSF, so this is the toughest cut-off in the exam.

SSC GD cut-off 2026 for women (General area)

From Annexure-I of the same notice. Women’s posts are far fewer, so in several states the female cut-off is higher than the male one.

State UR OBC SC
Andhra Pradesh 102.08 102.57 90.36
Telangana 91.36 90.12 84.75
Uttar Pradesh 125.99 125.96 119.30
Bihar 116.03 115.98 92.92
Rajasthan 127.61 127.66 116.18
Madhya Pradesh 124.70 125.84 116.79
Haryana 128.42 126.72 120.21
Maharashtra 98.73 97.82 97.60
Karnataka 87.92 87.43 84.36
Tamil Nadu 85.90 86.08 78.30
Kerala 105.28 111.07 97.14
West Bengal 103.53 98.42 94.92
Odisha 100.15 105.55 87.94

Look at Andhra Pradesh: UR women needed 102.08, UR men 90.77. Same story in Kerala and Telangana. If you’re a woman who missed it narrowly, this is why.

SSC GD cut-off 2026 for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Both states have General area (G) and Naxal/militancy affected area (N) posts, and no Border area posts. If your district is on the Naxal-area list in the notice (Annexure-XII), you were first considered for the N posts, then for G posts.

Andhra Pradesh

UR OBC EWS SC ST
Men, General area 90.77 93.80 71.77 75.25 78.41
Men, Naxal area 48.00 40.00 40.00 32.00 63.92
Women, General area 102.08 102.57 95.59 90.36 92.13
Women, Naxal area 54.80 40.00 40.00 32.00 –

Telangana

UR OBC EWS SC ST
Men, General area 79.51 80.50 58.29 70.37 95.49
Men, Naxal area 48.00 40.00 40.00 36.75 78.19
Women, General area 91.36 90.12 78.10 84.75 104.71
Women, Naxal area 50.96 53.87 40.00 50.43 –

Where you see 48.00, 40.00 or 32.00, that’s just the minimum qualifying mark: there were fewer candidates than posts, so everyone above the minimum got through. In Telangana, 295 UR men and 234 OBC men were shortlisted this way against Naxal-area posts.

Two things stand out. Telangana’s General-area cut-off for men (79.51 UR) is about 11 marks below Andhra Pradesh’s (90.77). And ST candidates in Telangana needed more than UR candidates, because there are few ST posts in the General area.

Minimum qualifying marks

Before any cut-off, you had to cross these (without NCC bonus):

  • UR: 30%
  • OBC and EWS: 25%
  • SC, ST and ex-servicemen: 20%

Where a reserved seat had no candidates, SSC used these minimum marks as the cut-off, so some vacancies may still get filled at later stages.

What comes next: PET/PST

The CAPFs will hold the Physical Efficiency Test (running) and Physical Standard Test (height, chest, weight). This time CRPF is the nodal force, so call letters will come from rect.crpf.gov.in, not from SSC. No PET date has been announced yet.

After PET/PST, the stages are:

  1. Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and Review Medical if you’re declared unfit and appeal
  2. Document verification
  3. Final merit list and force allotment, based on your CBT score and the force preference you gave

The physical test is qualifying only. It doesn’t add marks. But fail it and you’re out, however high your CBT score.

For reference, in recent SSC GD cycles the race was 5 km in 24 minutes for men and 1.6 km in 8½ minutes for women (different rules for Ladakh). Height and chest rules vary by category and region. Check the 2026 notice of examination for the exact standards that apply to you.

Documents to keep ready

Don’t wait for the call letter to start gathering papers. The usual list:

  • 10th certificate (proof of date of birth)
  • Caste or EWS certificate in the format given in the notice, if you claimed a reserved category
  • Domicile certificate (posts are given state-wise)
  • NCC certificate, if you claimed bonus marks. If you can’t show it, the bonus goes.
  • Border-area or Naxal-area district proof, if you were shortlisted against those posts
  • Photo ID and a few passport-size photos

The NCC bonus was 8 marks for ‘C’, 4.8 for ‘B’ and 3.2 for ‘A’ certificates (not given to ex-servicemen). It was added “provisionally”, so a missing certificate at DV can push you below the cut-off.

If your name isn’t in the list

Check the withheld list (List-III) first. Your result may be on hold for a document issue, not because you failed.

If it isn’t there either, wait for SSC to release marks. Compare your score with your state’s cut-off in the tables above. If you were close, the next GD cycle is a realistic target.

Meanwhile, the Coast Guard Navik and Yantrik recruitment is open till 21 October, and it’s another uniformed job for 10th pass, 12th pass (Maths and Physics) and diploma holders, if you were born between 2005 and 2009. If you’ve passed 12th, the SSC CHSL 2026 Tier 1 exam is coming up too, though applications for it have closed.

My take

If you’re shortlisted, the next 4 to 6 weeks matter more than your CBT score. Run 4 to 5 days a week and time your 5 km or 1.6 km on a proper track, not on a road with traffic. Every cycle, a lot of people who score well fail the race because they started practising after the admit card came.

And keep checking rect.crpf.gov.in. Your PET call letter will be there, not on ssc.gov.in.

It depends on your state, gender and area. For UR men in the General area, it ranges from about 65 in Kerala to 127 in Rajasthan and 126 in Uttar Pradesh. For the SSF (All-India), the UR male cut-off is 146.17817.

SSC says marks, the final answer key and the response sheets will be available 'in due course' through your login on ssc.gov.in. No date has been given yet.

What are the minimum qualifying marks in SSC GD 2026?
