UPSSSC PET admit card 2026 release dates by exam date
UPSSSC is not releasing all admit cards on one day. Its notice dated 17 October 2026 (No. 241) gives a separate date for each exam day:
| Your exam date | Admit card released on |
|---|---|
| 25 October 2026 (Sunday) | 17 October 2026 |
| 30 October 2026 (Friday) | 23 October 2026 |
| 1 November 2026 (Sunday) | 25 October 2026 |
How do you know your exam date? UPSSSC put out an advance intimation of exam district on 12 October. It shows your exam district, date and shift. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, it’s on the homepage under the Examination section, next to the admit card link.
One thing many candidates mix up: that district slip is not your admit card. UPSSSC says so in bold in its 12 October notice. Nobody gets into the exam hall without the real admit card.
How to download the UPSSSC PET admit card 2026
- Open upsssc.gov.in.
- On the homepage, click Download PET Exam Admit Card.
- Enter your PET registration number (the 11-digit number on your registration slip).
- Select your date of birth (day, month, year) and gender.
- Type the verification code shown on the screen.
- Click Download Admit Card, then save the PDF and take a colour print.
Enter your details exactly as you filled them in the PET 2026 form. A different date of birth or gender is the most common reason the page says “no record found”.
There are two more ways to get it. UPSSSC says you can also download the admit card through its official Android app and through the link sent to your registered email. If the website is slow on release day (it usually is), try the app.
Lost your registration number? Log in to the applicant dashboard on the same homepage, or search your email and SMS from August 2026 for the registration slip.

Details to check on your admit card
Check these the moment you download it, not the night before the exam:
- Your name, photo and signature
- Registration number and roll number
- Exam date and shift
- Exam centre name and full address
- Reporting time and gate closing time
Your exam centre, date and shift cannot be changed. The PET 2026 advertisement says no request for this will be accepted. So if the centre is far, plan your travel now. Look it up on the map, and if possible visit it a day early.
If your name, photo or date of birth is wrong, contact UPSSSC right away. The advertisement gives the phone number 0522-2720814 and the email online.upsssc@nic.in. Call on a working day, and keep your registration number ready.
UPSSSC PET 2026 exam pattern
The pattern is the same as in recent PET years. All questions are objective multiple-choice.
| Section | Marks |
|---|---|
| Indian History | 5 |
| Indian National Movement | 5 |
| Geography | 5 |
| Indian Economy | 5 |
| Indian Constitution and Public Administration | 5 |
| General Science | 5 |
| Elementary Arithmetic | 5 |
| General Hindi | 5 |
| General English | 5 |
| Logic and Reasoning | 5 |
| Current Affairs | 10 |
| General Awareness | 10 |
| Hindi unseen passages (2 passages, 5 questions each) | 10 |
| Graph interpretation (2 graphs, 5 questions each) | 10 |
| Table interpretation (2 tables, 5 questions each) | 10 |
| Total | 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours |
- Negative marking: 1/4 mark is cut for every wrong answer.
- Level: the academic sections (1 to 9 in the advertisement) are at NCERT secondary/senior secondary level.
- Normalisation: because the exam runs in 6 shifts over 3 days, UPSSSC will normalise scores to compare candidates across shifts.
My advice for the last week: the 30 marks from passages, graphs and tables are the easiest marks in the paper. They need no memorising, only careful reading. Do 2–3 timed sets of these every day until your exam. Then revise current affairs from the last 6 months.
Exam-day rules: Aadhaar, documents and what not to do
Carry a valid admit card. UPSSSC’s notice says this is compulsory to sit the exam.
Keep your Aadhaar ready and updated. On 22 September 2026, UPSSSC said it will verify candidates’ Aadhaar in its exams. It asked candidates to update their biometrics (fingerprints and iris) and Aadhaar card so verification doesn’t fail. If your fingerprints are worn or your Aadhaar photo is very old, this is worth a visit to an Aadhaar centre before your exam. Carry your original Aadhaar card, along with whatever photo ID your admit card asks for.
Follow the instructions printed on the admit card. Reporting time, what you can carry (pen, water bottle) and what you can’t are listed there. Read the full page once at home.
Don’t try anything clever. The UP Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 applies to PET. Cheating, impersonation or any attempt to affect the exam can mean up to life imprisonment and a fine of up to ₹1 crore. You can also be barred from all future UPSSSC exams.
What happens after the PET exam
PET is not a job exam by itself. It’s a gateway. Your PET score lets you apply for the mains exams of Group C posts that UPSSSC advertises later (such as Junior Assistant, Gram Panchayat Adhikari and Lekhpal). Shortlisting for each mains exam is based on your normalised PET score.
Here’s what to expect:
- Answer key: UPSSSC usually puts out a provisional answer key after the exam, with a window to raise objections. No date has been announced yet.
- Result and score card: no date announced yet.
- Score validity: your PET 2026 score is valid for 3 years from the date the result is declared. If you hold more than one valid PET score when you apply for a mains exam, your best normalised score is used.
Right now, UPSSSC’s live mains advertisements (like the Sports Directorate and Regional Youth Welfare posts) are shortlisting from PET 2025 scores. PET 2026 scores will be used for the mains advertisements that come after the result.
If you’re 12th pass and also preparing for central jobs, the RRB NTPC Undergraduate 2026 applications are open till 13 November. Its general awareness and reasoning sections overlap a lot with PET.
My take
The staggered release is actually helpful: UPSSSC’s website won’t crash as badly on one day. But it also means many candidates will open the link today, see nothing, and assume something is wrong. Check your date on the district slip first.
If your exam is on 25 or 30 October, download the admit card today, check every detail, and use this week for timed practice on passages, graphs and tables. Those 30 marks decide a lot of normalised scores.
Frequently asked questions
Is the UPSSSC PET admit card 2026 out?
Yes, for the 25 October and 30 October exams. As per UPSSSC's notice, the 25 October admit card came on 17 October and the 30 October one on 23 October. Admit cards for the 1 November exam come on 25 October.
How do I download the UPSSSC PET 2026 admit card?
Go to upsssc.gov.in and click 'Download PET Exam Admit Card'. Enter your PET registration number, date of birth, gender and the verification code, then click Download Admit Card. You can also use the UPSSSC Android app or the link sent to your registered email.
What are the UPSSSC PET 2026 exam dates and timings?
25 October, 30 October and 1 November 2026, in two shifts each day: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The exam is held in 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Is the exam district slip the same as the admit card?
No. The 'advance intimation of exam district' released on 12 October only tells you the district. UPSSSC says clearly that it is not an admit card. You need the actual admit card to enter the exam.
Is there negative marking in UPSSSC PET 2026?
Yes. Each wrong answer costs 1/4 mark. The paper has 100 questions for 100 marks, and you get 2 hours.
How long is the PET 2026 score valid?
3 years from the date UPSSSC declares the result or uploads it on its website. You use this score to apply for the mains exams of Group C posts in that period.
