How to download the UIIC AO admit card 2026
UIIC doesn’t post call letters by mail. You have to download it yourself.
- Go to uiic.co.in and open Careers > Recruitment.
- Click Recruitment of Administrative Officers (Scale I) Generalists and Hindi Officers 2026.
- Click “Click here to download the Call letter for the Online Preliminary Examination (Tier-I)”.
- Enter your Registration Number or Roll Number, then your Password or Date of Birth, and the captcha.
- Download the call letter and save the PDF on your phone too.
- Take a clear printout and paste a recent passport-size photo on it, ideally the same one you uploaded in the form.
If the login page says “Your Browser is not allowed to access this page”, copy the link into a recent Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Links opened inside WhatsApp or Instagram often use their own built-in browser.
Lost your registration number? Search your email for the registration message from IBPS/UIIC from September. It has both the number and the password.
Details to check on your call letter
Look at these the moment you download it:
- Name and photo: your name must exactly match your photo ID. Married women who changed their name need the gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit in original.
- Exam date, shift and reporting time: the reporting time is earlier than the test start time. If you’re late, you won’t be let in.
- Venue address: UIIC suggests visiting the venue a day before so you don’t get lost on exam day.
- Post applied for: Generalist or Hindi Officer. You can’t appear for both.
If anything is wrong, call the candidate helpline: 1800 222 366 or 1800 103 4566 (9:30 am to 6 pm, not on Saturdays, Sundays or bank holidays). You can also file a complaint at cgrs.ibps.in.
UIIC AO prelims exam pattern 2026
The prelims is the same for Generalists and Hindi Officers.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Reasoning | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
Three things to remember:
- Each section has its own 20-minute timer. You can’t go back to English once Reasoning starts. Don’t leave easy questions in a section “for later”.
- 1/4 mark is cut for each wrong answer. Blank answers lose nothing, so don’t guess blindly.
- There’s a cut-off in every section and an overall cut-off. A great Quant score can’t save a weak English score.
Prelims marks don’t count in the final merit list. They only decide who goes to the mains.

Documents to carry and exam-day rules
UIIC’s information handout and notification list what you need. Without these, you won’t be allowed in:
- Printed call letter with your photo pasted on it
- Original photo ID: PAN, passport, driving licence, voter ID, Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar with photo, bank passbook with photo, college ID, employee ID and similar
- A photocopy of the same ID, stapled to the call letter (you hand both to the invigilator)
- 2 extra passport-size photos, the same as the one you uploaded
- PwBD candidates: the documents that apply to you (scribe form, if using one)
Ration card and learner’s licence are not accepted as ID.
On exam day:
- Plan to be at the venue for about 2 hours, even though the test is only 1 hour.
- No phone, smartwatch, calculator, notes or any electronic device inside.
- Your thumb impression and photo are taken at the venue. Wash off mehndi or ink from your fingers before the day.
- Once the exam starts, don’t press keyboard keys. The handout warns it can lock your exam. Use only the mouse.
- Click “Save & Next” for every answer. An answer you click but don’t save isn’t counted.
What comes after the prelims
| Stage | What it is | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Tier I prelims | 100-mark objective test (qualifying only) | 22 October 2026 |
| Tier II mains (Generalists) | 250-mark objective test + 30-mark descriptive (letter and essay, typed) | 30 November 2026 (tentative) |
| Tier II mains (Hindi Officers) | 200-mark objective test + 50-mark descriptive (essays, letter, translation) | 30 November 2026 (tentative) |
| Interview | Up to 3 times the vacancies in each category | Not announced |
For Generalists, the final merit list uses the mains objective score and the interview in a 75:25 ratio. The descriptive test is qualifying. For Hindi Officers, both the objective and descriptive parts of the mains count, again 75:25 with the interview.
UIIC hasn’t said when the prelims result will come. With mains on 30 November, expect it in the first half of November, as a list of shortlisted roll numbers on uiic.co.in. I’ll add it here when it’s out.
Salary and posting: know this before the mains
- Basic pay: ₹82,485 a month (scale ₹82,485 to ₹1,56,745), with gross pay of about ₹1,10,000 a month at metro centres, as per the notification.
- Posting: UIIC says most vacancies are in the Southern and Western zones. The first posting is for at least 5 years, with no transfer on request in that period.
- Bond: you sign up to serve 5 years. Leave early and you pay up to 1 year’s gross salary as damages, plus ₹35,000.
That’s a strong package for a graduate-level job. But if you’re from North or East India and can’t live far from home for 5 years, think about it now, not after the interview.
My take
225 posts across India is a small number for a ₹1 lakh+ a month PSU job, so expect tough competition and a high prelims cut-off. With 20 minutes per section, speed matters more than anything else.
The prelims is done, so don’t sit and wait for the result. The mains is only 5 weeks away and is a much bigger paper (250 marks for Generalists, plus a typed letter and essay). Start mains prep now, and practise one typed letter and essay every week so the descriptive part doesn’t catch you out.
If you also wrote the NICL exams, our NICL AO recruitment post and NICL Assistant result post cover that side. For general bank-style exam-day prep, see our IBPS Clerk admit card guide.
