Update (23 October 2026, night): It’s official. The makers released the File No. 25 glimpse on Prabhas’s birthday, along with the date: Fauzi releases in theatres on 19 March 2027. That’s one day later than the 18 March date reports had been giving.

Fauzi release date: how it changed

The date has moved twice in three months, and many pages still show an old one. Here’s the full history.

Date	What happened	Source
16 July 2026	Makers announce 3 December 2026 with a poster	Director Hanu Raghavapudi, makers’ handles
September 2026	Producer says Fauzi will miss 3 December	Producer Y. Ravi Shankar, at a Mythri film event
8–9 October 2026	Reports say the new date is 18 March 2027	Media reports, not official
23 October 2026	Makers announce 19 March 2027 with the glimpse	Mythri Movie Makers, official

When Hanu Raghavapudi announced the December date in July, he wrote, as Outlook India reported: “On 3rd DECEMBER 2026, the Fauzi march begins.”

That plan changed in September. At the pre-release event of another Mythri film, producer Y. Ravi Shankar said Fauzi would be pushed to a later date, as Pinkvilla reported.

In early October, reports said 18 March 2027. They were close. The official X post on 23 October says “In Cinemas March 19th 2027”, and the YouTube title of the glimpse carries the same date. 19 March 2027 is a Friday.

Why was Fauzi postponed?

The makers haven’t given a detailed reason in writing. What the reports say:

• The shoot isn’t finished. The interval sequence is reportedly being filmed now, with the remaining portions planned till mid-December 2026.
• Post-production needs time. It’s a war film with heavy visual effects work. If the shoot ends in December, a 3 December release was never possible.

That fits with what the producer said in September, but treat the shoot details as reported.

What about Spirit?

Prabhas’s other big film, Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was set for 5 March 2027. That would have put two Prabhas films two weeks apart.

That clash is gone. Around 18 October, the Spirit team moved its film to 29 October 2027, the Diwali season, as Telugu Cinema reported. So March 2027 belongs to Fauzi alone.

Cast and crew

The names in this table are from the credits Mythri Movie Makers published when the film was launched.

Role	Name
Lead	Prabhas
Cast	Imanvi, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and others
Writer, director	Hanu Raghavapudi
Producers	Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar
Music	Vishal Chandrasekhar
Cinematography	Sudeep Chatterjee
Editor	Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao
Production design	Ramakrishna and Monika

Anupam Kher and Chaitra J Achar are also reported to be in the cast.

Hanu Raghavapudi’s last film was Sita Ramam, and he’s working again with the same composer, Vishal Chandrasekhar. That’s a good sign if you liked that film’s music.

The film’s launch video from Mythri Movie Makers, August 2024, when it was still called “PrabhasHanu”.

What Fauzi is about (no spoilers)

The makers described it at launch as a historical fiction set in the 1940s. It’s a period action drama with a military backdrop, and Prabhas plays a soldier, which is what the title means.

The posters call it the story of “A Battalion Who Fights Alone”. The glimpse adds more: Prabhas plays a secret operative linked to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Fauj, fighting the British. Reports also say the makers plan it as a two-part story, with the second film as a prequel to the first.

That’s all the makers have shown so far. Anything more detailed you read online is a guess.

Fauzi File No. 25 glimpse (23 October)

Here’s the official glimpse from the Mythri Movie Makers YouTube channel:

File No. 25, the first glimpse of Fauzi, released by Mythri Movie Makers on 23 October 2026.

What it shows, going by the makers’ video and reports on it (no story spoilers):

• It opens in Berlin in 1942, with Subhas Chandra Bose meeting Adolf Hitler.
• Bose talks about an Indian operative with no name, whose work has troubled British intelligence. He calls him “Fauzi”.
• Prabhas appears only at the end, with a big gun and a defiant line aimed at the British.
• The video’s title and the makers’ post give the release date: 19 March 2027.

The makers kept their word. The producer had said a day earlier that this would be a glimpse into the film’s world, not a teaser or trailer, and asked fans not to expect Baahubali-level scale. That’s exactly what it is: a short setup video built around one question, “Who is he?”

The same morning, the makers also shared a poster with Prabhas’s profile on a golden coin, surrounded by flames, as Sakshi Post reported.

Is this the Fauzi teaser?

Most fans are calling it the teaser, and that’s fine for searching. Officially, it’s a glimpse. A proper teaser and trailer should come closer to March.

Be careful with other videos on YouTube titled “Fauzi Official Trailer” or “Fauzi Hindi Teaser”. Before 23 October, none of the top ones came from Mythri Movie Makers or T-Series. They were fan edits using clips from older Prabhas films. The real one is on the Mythri Movie Makers channel, and it’s the one embedded above.

What comes next

• Shoot: reports say filming continues till mid-December 2026.
• Teaser and trailer: not announced. Expect them in early 2027.
• Advance booking: usually opens a few days before release. Ignore “booking open” posts before March.

My take

The delay was disappointing, but it was the right call. A period war film with unfinished action scenes should not be rushed to meet a date. Sita Ramam worked because every frame looked cared for.

The glimpse is a smart move. It shows almost nothing of the film, but the Bose and Hitler setup tells you this isn’t a regular mass action film. And with Spirit moved to Diwali 2027, Fauzi gets March to itself.

Three months for VFX after a December wrap is tight for a war film, though. If the trailer slips into March, that’s the first sign to watch. I’ll update this page when the teaser or trailer is announced.
