PM Kisan 24th Installment Date 2026: Is 20 Oct Confirmed?

PM Kisan 24th installment date 2026 isn't announced yet. Why 20 October is only a rumour, when ₹2,000 may come, and how to fix e-KYC and status problems.

Update (20 October 2026): The rumoured 20 October date has come, and there’s still no official announcement. pmkisan.gov.in shows the 23rd installment (20 June) as the latest, and there’s no PIB release about the 24th. If you saw “₹2,000 credited today” messages, check Know Your Status yourself before believing them.

The PM Kisan 24th installment date has not been announced yet. As of 20 October 2026, pmkisan.gov.in still shows the 23rd installment, paid on 20 June 2026, as the latest. The “20 October” date you may have seen on WhatsApp or YouTube is not confirmed by the government.

What you can do now is make sure nothing blocks your ₹2,000 when it does come. That means finishing e-KYC and checking your status. Both take about 5 minutes.

PM Kisan 24th installment date: what’s confirmed and what isn’t

Here’s what is official:

  • PM Kisan pays ₹2,000 every four months, in three periods: April–July, August–November and December–March.
  • The 23rd installment (April–July 2026-27 period) was released by the Prime Minister on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. PIB says over ₹18,880 crore went to about 9.44 crore farmers, including 2.18 crore women.
  • So the 24th installment is the one for the August–November 2026 period.

What is not official: any exact date. Not 20 October (that day has passed with no release), not “before Diwali”, not any date a YouTube thumbnail shows. When the date is fixed, it will appear on pmkisan.gov.in and in a PIB press release, usually a few days before a big event where the Prime Minister presses the button.

When did the last few installments come?

This helps you guess sensibly, without trusting rumours.

Installment Period Date paid
20th April–July 2025-26 2 August 2025
21st August–November 2025-26 19 November 2025
22nd December–March 2025-26 13 March 2026 (from Guwahati)
23rd April–July 2026-27 20 June 2026 (from Tarakeswar)

Look at the 21st row. Last year, the August–November installment came on 19 November, close to the end of the period. Honestly, I won’t be surprised if this year’s 24th also comes in November rather than October. But that’s a guess based on last year, not a date.

Who gets the 24th installment

All landholding farmer families get PM Kisan, whatever the size of the land. A “family” here means husband, wife and minor children. Your state government verifies who is eligible.

You are not eligible if anyone in your family is:

  • A present or former holder of a constitutional post, minister, MP, MLA, MLC, mayor of a municipal corporation or chairperson of a district panchayat
  • A serving or retired central/state government or PSU employee (Group D, Class IV and Multi Tasking Staff are allowed)
  • A retired pensioner getting ₹10,000 or more a month (again, Group D/Class IV/MTS are allowed)
  • Someone who paid income tax in the last assessment year
  • A registered doctor, engineer, lawyer, chartered accountant or architect who is practising

Institutional land holders are also out.

Important: the portal says payments for some “suspected cases” have been held until physical verification. Examples it gives are farmers who got land ownership after 1 February 2019, and families where more than one member is getting the benefit (like both husband and wife). If your last installment stopped without any reason, this could be why.

How to complete PM Kisan e-KYC

e-KYC is mandatory. Without it, your installment won’t be sent. There are three ways to do it, according to the official e-KYC note.

1. OTP on the website (free)

You need a mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.

  1. Open pmkisan.gov.in.
  2. Click e-KYC (top right).
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number, then the OTP. Done.

2. Face authentication on the app (free)

Good if your mobile isn’t linked to Aadhaar.

  1. Install the PM-KISAN app and the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Log in with your PM Kisan registered mobile number.
  3. On the beneficiary status page, if e-KYC shows “No”, tap e-KYC, enter your Aadhaar and allow the face scan.

3. Fingerprint at a CSC (₹15)

Go to your nearest Common Service Centre or State Seva Kendra with your Aadhaar card and your Aadhaar-linked mobile. The official fee is ₹15. If the operator asks for ₹100 or ₹200, that’s more than the official fee. You can find a CSC at locator.csccloud.in.

The new status shows up in your beneficiary status after 24 hours, whichever way you do it. Don’t panic if it still shows “No” the same evening.

How to check your PM Kisan status

  1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in and click Know Your Status.
  2. Enter your registration number. Don’t know it? Click Know Your Registration No. and search by mobile or Aadhaar.
  3. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
  4. You’ll see your eligibility, e-KYC status and the payment details of each installment (bank, UTR number, date credited).

You can also check through the PM-KISAN app, or ask the Kisan e-Mitra chatbot on the portal.

Common problems and fixes

Problem What to do
e-KYC shows “No” Do OTP or face e-KYC, or visit a CSC. Recheck after 24 hours.
Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded Visit your bank branch with Aadhaar and ask them to seed it for DBT. Money is only sent to an Aadhaar-seeded account.
Mobile number changed Use Update Mobile Number in the Farmers Corner on the portal.
Name or details wrong Use Update Missing Information, or contact your village agriculture officer.
“Held for physical verification” Contact your state’s PM Kisan nodal officer (listed under Contact Us on the portal) and keep your land papers ready.
Got the 23rd but not the 24th, after the date Wait 2–3 days, then raise a complaint in Helpdesk - Query Form on the portal.

You’ll see many “PM Kisan 24th kist” videos and WhatsApp messages in the next few weeks. Keep these in mind:

  • The only official site is pmkisan.gov.in. Not .com, not .in with extra words.
  • No one needs your bank PIN, ATM card or UPI PIN to “release” your installment.
  • e-KYC is free online. At a CSC it costs ₹15, nothing more.
  • If someone says “pay ₹500 and your pending installments will come”, it’s a scam.

We wrote about another Aadhaar check that blocks benefits in LPG Aadhaar biometric authentication, and about ration card e-KYC deadlines. If you get all three, it’s worth doing them in one CSC visit.

What to do now

  1. Check Know Your Status today. Make sure e-KYC says “Yes” and your bank account is seeded.
  2. If anything is pending, fix it this week. You have time before the payment, but not much.
  3. Ignore any date until it shows up on pmkisan.gov.in or PIB.

I’ll update this page the day the government announces the 24th installment date, and again when the money is sent.

Frequently asked questions

When will the PM Kisan 24th installment come?

The government hasn't announced a date yet. As of 20 October 2026, the official portal still shows the 23rd installment (20 June 2026) as the latest. The 24th belongs to the August–November 2026 period, so it is expected by the end of November, but no exact date is official.

Is 20 October the PM Kisan 24th installment date?

No. The 20 October date went around on social media and some websites, but there was no notice on pmkisan.gov.in or PIB, and as of 20 October the portal still shows the 23rd installment as the latest. Wait for the official announcement.

How much money will I get in the 24th installment?

₹2,000. PM Kisan gives ₹6,000 a year to eligible farmer families in three equal installments of ₹2,000, sent straight to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

Is e-KYC compulsory for the PM Kisan 24th installment?

Yes. The PM Kisan portal says e-KYC is mandatory for registered farmers. You can do it free with OTP on the portal, with face authentication on the PM Kisan app, or with fingerprint at a CSC for a ₹15 fee.

How do I check my PM Kisan status?

Go to pmkisan.gov.in, click Know Your Status, enter your registration number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile. If you don't know your registration number, use the Know Your Registration No. link on the same page.

Why did I not get the last PM Kisan installment?

The common reasons are pending e-KYC, a bank account not seeded with Aadhaar, land details not verified, or your case being held for physical verification (for example, land bought after 1 February 2019 or two family members both getting the benefit). Check Know Your Status to see which one applies.
