Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 Release Time: 20 Oct, 10 Episodes

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 comes out on Netflix on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, with all 10 episodes. Netflix hasn’t posted an exact hour. Most of its global releases go live at 12:00 am Pacific Time, which is 3:00 am in New York, 8:00 am in London and 12:30 pm in India.

It’s a brand-new story in Night City with a new crew, a new voice cast and Studio Trigger animating again. You don’t need to have watched Season 1. Here’s the release time for your country, the cast, the theme songs and what we still don’t know. No spoilers.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 release time in your country

Netflix’s official page says the series “arrives on Netflix Oct. 20”. It doesn’t give an hour. The times below assume the usual Netflix global drop at 12:00 am Pacific (07:00 UTC). If Netflix lists a different time, I’ll update this table.

What is Edgerunners 2 about?

From Netflix’s own description: it follows “a fresh group of hired guns” in Night City, told in “a reimagined animation style”. Netflix calls the 10 episodes “a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge in a city that thrives on violence”.

The show’s line on the teaser is short: “New crew. Same hell.”

It is not a direct sequel. Season 1 (September 2022) followed street kid David Martinez and the netrunner Lucy. That story is not continued. Edgerunners 2 only shares the city and the rules of the world: cyberware, corporations, mercenaries for hire.

Who should watch it:

• Season 1 fans who want more of Trigger’s fast, colourful action.
• Cyberpunk 2077 players. You’ll spot places, gangs and gear from the game.
• New viewers. This is a clean starting point, which is rare for a “Season 2”.

Who should skip it: anyone who doesn’t like graphic violence. Season 1 was rated for adults, and the Edgerunners 2 teaser leans hard into body horror. Check the age rating on the Netflix title page before you watch with family.

A few names you may know. Akari Kito voices Nezuko in Demon Slayer. Koki Uchiyama is Shigaraki in My Hero Academia and Inumaki in Jujutsu Kaisen. Clancy Brown is the voice of Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob and played the Kurgan in Highlander.

Early cast reports also teased a mysterious fifth character who hasn’t been officially named yet. Expect that reveal on release day.

Who made it: Trigger is back, with a new director

Studio Trigger animates the series again, working with CD PROJEKT RED, the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077. The big change is in the director’s chair.

• Kai Ikarashi directs. This is his first time directing a full series. He worked on Season 1 as a storyboard artist, animation director and animator, and he directed its sixth episode, “Girl on Fire”.
• Bartosz Sztybor from CD PROJEKT RED returns as showrunner, writer and producer.
• Masahiko Otsuka writes the screenplay.
• Ichigo Kanno is the lead character designer, which is why the new crew looks noticeably different from David’s gang.

Season 1 was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill, Promare). Some fans are nervous about the change. Honestly, Ikarashi directed one of Season 1’s best-liked episodes, so I’d give him a fair chance.

Edgerunners 2 opening and ending songs

The music was revealed at the Anime Expo 2026 panel in July:

• Opening: “10:15 Saturday Night” by The Cure, one of the band’s earliest songs, from the late 1970s.
• Ending: “Watson” by Petite Meller.
• Also in the show: rapper Rico Nasty wrote and performed “You Can’t Run From Me” for the series.

For comparison, Season 1 opened with Franz Ferdinand’s “This Fffire”. A Cure track is an unusual, darker choice. That fits a story Netflix describes as being about revenge.

How to watch Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2

1. Open Netflix on your phone, TV, laptop or console. Any paid plan works, including the cheaper mobile-only plans in countries that have them.
2. Search “Edgerunners 2” or open the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners title page.
3. Pick your audio from the Audio & Subtitles menu. The Japanese and English casts are confirmed. Netflix hasn’t listed every dub language yet, so check the menu on release day.

The only legal way to watch is on Netflix. Skip “free episode download” sites. They’re piracy, and many are full of malware.

What’s still unknown

• The exact release hour. Netflix has only confirmed the date.
• Episode runtimes and titles. Season 1 episodes ran about 25 minutes each, but Netflix hasn’t listed runtimes for Season 2.
• The fifth character and who voices them.
• The full dub list. Season 1 had many dub languages. We’ll know Season 2’s list when it goes live.

My take

If you watched Season 1, you already know you’ll press play. If you didn’t, this is the easiest time to start Edgerunners, because nothing from 2022 is needed. Ten episodes of about 25 minutes is roughly one long evening, so many people will finish it on day one. That also means spoilers will be everywhere by Wednesday. Watch it early or mute the keywords.
