OTT Releases This Weekend (16–18 Oct 2026): 15 New Titles

OTT releases this weekend, 16 to 18 October 2026: Aasha, Enna Vilai, Traitors Telugu, K-dramas, anime, Masterplan and more. Platform, languages and story.

OTT releases this weekend (16 to 18 October 2026) are mostly for people who don’t want to fight the Jailer 2 crowds. The Indian picks are Urvashi’s Malayalam thriller Aasha on ZEE5, the Tamil court drama Enna Vilai on Netflix and The Traitors Telugu on Prime Video.

If you watch beyond Indian films, there’s a new K-drama (Make Me Tingle), a Japanese remake of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime, a Swedish dark comedy and Stanley Tucci’s Mona Lisa heist film Masterplan. One correction before you start: Sacrifice with Chris Evans is not on Netflix in India. Details below, with no spoilers.

Masterplan, Money Trap, The Storm, The Disciple and Tenzing dates are from the platforms’ own announcements. For the Korean and Japanese shows, I checked that they’re listed for India on JustWatch India, except Extraordinary Attorney Minami, which isn’t listed for India yet. Aasha is from ZEE5’s press release. The rest are as reported by news outlets, so open the app once before you plan your evening.

Indian OTT releases this weekend

Aasha (Malayalam, ZEE5)

Actor Joju George with curly hair, a beard and glasses, smiling at a public event Joju George, who plays Jeemon in Aasha, at a public event (not a still from the film). Photo: Sanu N / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA 4.0

A widowed mother who is fiercely protective of her daughters gets into a fight with a man named Jeemon after a road accident. That one small clash sets off a chain of events that changes everyone’s life, and the case ends up in court.

  • Cast: Urvashi (title role), Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vijayaraghavan
  • Director: Safar Sanal (first film)
  • Audio: Malayalam, with Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada dubs (as per ZEE5)

It released in theatres on 11 September. Urvashi against Joju George in a courtroom fight is reason enough to try it. This is my top pick of the weekend.

Enna Vilai (Tamil, Netflix)

Actor Nimisha Sajayan with long hair in a checked shirt, looking to the side at an outdoor event Nimisha Sajayan, who plays the lawyer in Enna Vilai, at an event (not a still from the film). Photo: Syed Shiyaz Mirza / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA 4.0

A fisherman from Rameswaram finds something valuable, and the find lands him in a false case. A young lawyer takes up his fight to clear his name.

  • Cast: Karunas, Nimisha Sajayan, Vijayalakshmi Veeramani, Mohan Raman
  • Director: Sajeev Pazhoor (his first Tamil film; he wrote Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum)
  • Audio: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam (as reported)

It came to theatres on 17 September, so it has reached OTT in under a month. If you like slow, grounded legal dramas, this is the one.

The Traitors Telugu (Prime Video)

The Telugu version of the global reality game. Twenty celebrities live together, a few of them are secretly “traitors”, and the rest have to find them before they’re knocked out.

  • Host: Teja Sajja (HanuMan), his first time hosting
  • Contestants include: Chinmayi Sripada, Harsha Vardhan, Pragathi, Shreedevi Chowdary
  • Schedule: 10 episodes, new ones every Thursday at 12 noon

Good for family viewing, and it’ll be what everyone talks about on Telugu social media for the next two months.

Kappi Squad (Malayalam, JioHotstar)

A light comedy series about four young friends who open a café together. Rinosh George, Anagha Ajith, Diya Deepan and Joel Joseph lead it. New episodes come every Thursday.

Roadies Rebirth (Hindi, JioHotstar)

Dia Mirza and Neha Dhupia standing together in front of a yellow event backdrop Neha Dhupia (right), one of the Roadies Rebirth gang leaders, with Dia Mirza at an event. Photo: Megha Thakker / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA 4.0

Season 21 of Roadies, with Rannvijay Singha hosting. This time the gang leaders are split into “OGs” (Nikhil Chinapa, Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula) and “NewGs” (Abhishek Malhan, Bani J, Baseer Ali).

New episodes come every Friday and Saturday at 7 pm on JioHotstar and MTV. A few outlets say it’s also on Netflix. The official announcements I found mention only JioHotstar and MTV, so check your Netflix app before you count on it.

International picks

Masterplan (Prime Video)

Black and white portrait of actor Stanley Tucci in glasses, a dark suit and tie Stanley Tucci, the master thief in Masterplan (not a still from the film). Photo: smoothdude / Wikimedia, CC BY 2.0

A legendary thief (Stanley Tucci) hires two young strangers, a cybercrime expert and an explosives specialist, to steal the Mona Lisa. Then he tells them they’re his long-lost children. Simona Tabasco and Victor Belmondo co-star, and Thomas Vincent directs. It’s included with Prime, so no extra rent.

Money Trap: The Karun Treasure (Netflix)

A Turkish crime comedy in 8 episodes. A con man finds a map to the legendary treasure of Croesus and plans one last job, but rival crooks want it too. Netflix rates it for adults (violence, language).

The Diplomat Season 4 (Netflix)

Actor Keri Russell with long wavy hair smiling on a panel stage Keri Russell, who plays Ambassador Kate Wyler, at a fan convention panel. Photo: Assassin2005727 / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA 4.0

Keri Russell is back as Ambassador Kate Wyler. If you’ve watched the first three seasons, you already know whether you’re in. If not, start from Season 1.

Sacrifice (Lionsgate Play, not Netflix)

Actor Anya Taylor-Joy speaking at a convention panel Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays the cult leader in Sacrifice, at a convention panel. Photo: Gage Skidmore / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA 2.0

Chris Evans plays a fading action star, and Anya Taylor-Joy plays a cult leader who takes him hostage at a gala. Romain Gavras directs, and it runs about 1 hour 43 minutes.

Here’s the catch. Netflix lists it as “US and select regions only”, and in India it streams on Lionsgate Play, also available as an add-on channel inside Prime Video and Apple TV. So if your Netflix search shows nothing, that’s why.

Tenzing (Apple TV)

The snow-covered peak of Mount Everest under a blue sky with clouds Mount Everest, which Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary first climbed in 1953. Photo: Vyacheslav Argenberg / Wikimedia, CC BY 4.0

The story of the first climb of Everest in 1953, told from Tenzing Norgay’s side for once. Genden Phuntsok plays Tenzing, with Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary and Willem Dafoe as John Hunt. Jennifer Peedom (Sherpa) directs. There’s a strong India and Darjeeling connection here, so it’s worth a look even if you don’t usually watch Hollywood dramas.

Korean, Japanese and European picks

Make Me Tingle (Korean, Prime Video)

A light romantic comedy. Gong Yeon-su (Nam Ji-hyun), who grew up in a strict traditional family, meets Dokgo Dal (Kim Jae-young), the CEO of an adult-products start-up, on a blind date. She can’t tell whether what she feels is just attraction or something more.

  • Episodes: 10, about 52 minutes each. The first 4 came out on 15 October.
  • Where: Prime Video in India (as listed on JustWatch India). International outlets also list Viki.

Going by the premise, it’s a grown-up rom-com, not one for watching with parents.

100 Days of Deception (Korean, Netflix)

The Gyeonghoeru royal banquet pavilion at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, reflected in a pond Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, a familiar backdrop in Korean dramas. Photo: Frank Schulenburg / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA 4.0

A period drama set during the Japanese occupation of Korea. A skilled pickpocket (Kim You-jung) goes undercover as a spy for the independence army. Park Jin-young (GOT7) co-stars.

It started on 10 October with 16 episodes of about 70 minutes, and new ones come every Saturday and Sunday. So episodes 3 and 4 land this weekend, which makes it a good time to catch up.

Extraordinary Attorney Minami (Japanese, Netflix)

If you loved Extraordinary Attorney Woo, this is the Japanese remake. Ashida Mana plays Minami, an autistic lawyer who topped her law class and the bar exam but can’t get hired because of prejudice, until one firm takes her on.

  • Episodes: 10, about 54 minutes, one a week
  • Date: Netflix lists 18 October. It airs in Japan on 19 October, so the Netflix date may move by a day.

It isn’t listed for India yet, so search for it in your Netflix app on Sunday before you plan around it.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus (Japanese anime, Netflix)

A remake of Dragon Ball Super with redrawn scenes, better animation and a tightened story. It starts with Beerus, the God of Destruction, waking up and coming after Goku. In India it’s on Netflix and Crunchyroll, rated UA 13+, with 24-minute episodes coming weekly (19 listed).

If you grew up on Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network, this is the easiest way back in.

The Storm (Swedish, Netflix)

A dark comedy. A 45th birthday dinner at a farm in northern Sweden goes wrong when a storm traps the guests, and the polite masks slip. Gustaf Skarsgård leads, and Josephine Bornebusch, who directed episodes of Baby Reindeer, wrote and directed it. It runs about 1 hour 41 minutes.

The Disciple: A Wu-Tang Fable (Netflix)

A documentary about Cilvaringz, a Dutch-Moroccan fan who talked his way into the Wu-Tang Clan’s circle and drove their secret album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, the one-copy record sold at auction in 2015. For hip-hop fans mainly.

No Spanish releases this weekend

I couldn’t find a new Spanish film or series on Indian OTT for 16–18 October. Next week, Netflix has the Spanish comedy series Fading Grandeur (23 October), and Prime Video has the Korean drama Final Table with Ahn Hyo-seop (24 October). Both are in next weekend’s OTT list (23–25 October).

What to watch, by mood

I haven’t watched these yet, so this goes by the story and the people involved, not a review.

  • One strong film tonight: Aasha.
  • With family, in Telugu: The Traitors Telugu, or Aasha with Telugu audio.
  • Courtroom drama: Enna Vilai.
  • Light and fun: Masterplan or Kappi Squad.
  • K-drama night: Make Me Tingle (rom-com) or 100 Days of Deception (period spy drama).
  • Anime: Dragon Ball Super: Beerus.
  • Dark comedy: The Storm.
  • Something real: Tenzing.

Before you press play

  • Final Destination: Bloodlines is not new. Some “this week” lists show it for 16 October. That was its JioHotstar date in 2025, so it has been streaming for a year.
  • DC (Tamil, Lokesh Kanagaraj) is unclear. One report says it comes to SonyLIV on 16 October, but it has been on Sun NXT since September. I couldn’t confirm SonyLIV, so I’ve left it out of the table.
  • Check the audio menu. “5 languages” in a news report doesn’t always show up on day one.
  • Skip piracy sites and Telegram links. Everything here is on a legal platform, and those links are a common way phones get malware.

What’s still unknown

  • Runtimes for Aasha, Enna Vilai and Masterplan haven’t been shown on the platforms’ pages I could check.
  • Whether Roadies Rebirth is on Netflix India, or only on JioHotstar.
  • OTT dates for Jailer 2 and Ranabaali. Nothing is announced, and any date you see now is a guess.

Planning a theatre trip instead? See our October 2026 movie releases list for the rest of the month, and Jailer 2’s Day 1 collection for how the big one opened. Missed last week’s list? It’s here.
